Your Membership Coverage
Your membership covers all emergency services listed under "Roadside Service Benefits". Service is available to the Member whose name appears on a valid membership card. To provide Roadside Service to individuals who live in the same household (even if they're driving a Member's car) they must possess a valid Associate membership card.

Your Roadside Service Maximums
Primary and Associate Members who exceed four Roadside Service calls during a membership year may have their Roadside Service benefits suspended, at which time service can be provided at a preferred rate. You will be required to pay the contractor for each additional service call on a C.O.D. basis.

Severe Weather Conditions
Delays are at times unavoidable due to heavy demands during severe weather or other unusual conditions. In such circumstances towing may be limited to the nearest place of safety. If your vehicle is already in a safe place, such as a private or public garage, driveway, etc., service may be provided only after the severe weather/unusual condition is over.

Your Service Exclusions
  • Second or additional trips on any one call, including re-tows from residences or repair facilities.
  • A vehicle that:
    • Is abandoned
    • Is to be towed to a salvage yard
    • Has failed a safety inspection
    • Is impounded due to a legal infraction
    • Is unplated or is unlicensed.
  • Service to a vehicle purposely driven into an area not regularly travelled, such as:
    • vacant lots
    • open fields
    • beaches
    • unpassable private or recreational roads
    • yards
    • mud or snow-filled driveways or alleys (Contractors will not shovel snow)
    • construction sites or other locations which cannot be reached safely.
  • Service to school buses.
  • Vehicles for hire identified as taxis or limousines.
  • Transporting Members to their disabled vehicle or transporting Members after service has been rendered. (Assistance will be provided in locating transportation at Member expense)
  • Cost of parts, labour or repairs.
  • Accepting appointments for service calls.
  • Any charges relating to impound and storage fees.

Non-CAA Contractor Services
  • If you have followed the procedure outlined to obtain Roadside Service, and service is NOT available, you may obtain your own service, pay for it and mail in the original receipt within 30 days. Reimbursement will be based on the current commercial rates for the region where the vehicle was disabled and your membership coverage type.
  • In the event our service WAS available but not used, reimbursement will be made at the local contract station rate. You will be reimbursed for any service normally provided under your membership.
  • In instances where contractor access is legally restricted (toll roads, limited-access highways), full reimbursement will be provided for towing back to the service facility or the nearest exit.
  • Reimbursement will be processed after submission of an original, official, itemized invoice for services rendered by a qualified, registered, auto service or towing facility. Get the reimbursement form here. (69KB )
  • A Plus membership enables you to be reimbursed for Plus services obtained at current commercial rates from the facility nearest the breakdown location.
Note: Cost of accommodation and incidental expenses (taxi fare, etc.) are not reimbursed unless breakdown is the result of an accident involving collision. See "Trip Accident Assistance".

Service Providers
A supply of gasoline will be delivered to your disabled vehicle to enable you to reach the nearest open service station. (Specific brands or octane cannot be promised.) Basic Members will be charged the current pump price for the gasoline. Plus Members will receive the gasoline at no charge.
